2. Miss Bennet was therefore established as a sweet girl, and their brother felt authorized by such commendation to think of her as he chose.
“Shuning uchun Miss Bennet yoqimli qiz sifatida tan olindi, va ularning akasi bunday maqtov orqali uni o‘z xohishiga ko‘ra ko‘rish huquqiga ega deb his qildi.”
7. She longed to speak, but could think of nothing to say; and after a short silence Mrs. Bennet began repeating her thanks to Mr. Bingley for his kindness to Jane, with an apology for troubling him also with Lizzy.
“U gaplashishni xohlardi, lekin nima deyishni bilmay qoldi; va qisqa sukutdan keyin Mrs. Bennet Mr. Bingleyga Jane’ga bo‘lgan mehribonligi uchun rahmat aytib, Lizzy bilan ham bezovta qilgani uchun uzr so‘radi.”
8. She could think of nothing but of Mr. Wickham, and of what he had told her, all the way home; but there was not time for her even to mention his name as they went, for neither Lydia nor Mr. Collins were once silent.
“U uyga ketayotgan yo‘lda Mr. Wickham va uning aytganlaridan boshqa narsani o‘ylay olmadi; lekin yo‘l davomida uning ismini aytishga vaqt ham bo‘lmadi, chunki na Lydia, na Mr. Collins bir lahza sukut saqlamadi.”
9. But perhaps you have been too pleasantly engaged to think of any third person; in which case you may be sure of my pardon.
“Lekin ehtimol siz juda quvnoq mashg‘ul bo‘lgansiz, uchinchi shaxs haqida o‘ylashga vaqt bo‘lmagan; shunda siz mening kechirimimga ishonishingiz mumkin.”
10. Mr. Bingley’s defense of his friend was a very able one, I dare say; but since he is unacquainted with several parts of the story, and has learnt the rest from that friend himself, I shall venture to still think of both gentlemen as I did before.
“Mr. Bingley do‘stini himoya qilish juda mahoratli edi, deb o‘ylayman; lekin u hikoyaning bir necha qismini bilmaydi va qolganini do‘stidan o‘rgangan, shuning uchun men ikkala janobni ilgari qilganimdek o‘ylashga jur’at qilaman.”
12. She could think of nothing else; and yet whether Bingley’s regard had really died away, or were suppressed by his friends’ interference; whether he had been aware of Jane’s attachment, or whether it had escaped his observation; whatever were the case, though her opinion of him must be materially affected by the difference, her sister’s situation remained the same, her peace equally wounded.
“U boshqa hech narsani o‘ylay olmadi; va shunga qaramay, Bingleyning mehribonligi haqiqatan o‘chib ketganmi yoki do‘stlari aralashuvi bilan bostirilganmi; Jane’ning mehrini sezganmi yoki sezmaganmi; holat qanday bo‘lmasin, uning unga bo‘lgan fikri sezilarli darajada ta’sirlangan bo‘lsa ham, singlisining holati o‘zgarmadi, uning tinchligi ham xuddi shunday shikastlangan.”
17. It was absolutely necessary, therefore, to think of something, and in this emergence recollecting WHEN she had seen him last in Hertfordshire, and feeling curious to know what he would say on the subject of their hasty departure, she observed:
“Shuning uchun nimadir o‘ylash mutlaqo zarur edi, va shu paytda u oxirgi marta Hertfordshireda uni qachon ko‘rganini eslab, ularning shoshilinch ketishi haqida nima deya qolishini bilishga qiziqib kuzatdi.”
18. She could not think of Darcy’s leaving Kent without remembering that his cousin was to go with him; but Colonel Fitzwilliam had made it clear that he had no intentions at all, and agreeable as he was, she did not mean to be unhappy about him.
“U Darcy Kentni tark etishini o‘ylay olmadi, uning amakivachchasi ham unga borishi kerakligini eslamay; lekin Colonel Fitzwilliam bu niyati yo‘qligini ochiq aytgandi, va u yoqimli bo‘lishiga qaramay, u haqida xafa bo‘lishni istamadi.”
19. Elizabeth awoke the next morning to the same thoughts and meditations which had at length closed her eyes. She could not yet recover from the surprise of what had happened; it was impossible to think of anything else; and, totally indisposed for employment, she resolved, soon after breakfast, to indulge herself in air and exercise.
“Elizabeth ertasi kuni tongda xuddi shu fikrlar va o‘ylashlar bilan uyg‘ondi, oxir-oqibat ko‘zlarini yumgandi. U nima bo‘lganidan hayratdan hanuz tiklana olmadi; boshqa hech narsani o‘ylash mumkin emas edi; va, ish bilan shug‘ullanishga butunlay qodir bo‘lmagan holda, u nonushtadan keyin havo va mashqlar bilan o‘zini erkalashga qaror qildi.”
21. ‘He is the best landlord, and the best master,’ said she, ‘that ever lived; not like the wild young men nowadays, who think of nothing but themselves.
“U eng yaxshi mulkdor va eng yaxshi ustozdir,” dedi u, “hozirgi vahshiy yoshlar kabi, faqat o‘zlarini o‘ylaydigan emas.”
22. Mrs. Gardiner was surprised and concerned; but as they were now approaching the scene of her former pleasures, every idea gave way to the charm of recollection; and she was too much engaged in pointing out to her husband all the interesting spots in its environs to think of anything else.
“Mrs. Gardiner hayratda va tashvishda edi; lekin ular uning avvalgi zavq manzarasiga yaqinlashayotganda, har bir fikr xotiralar jozibasiga yo‘qoldi; va u erdagi barcha qiziqarli joylarni eri bilan ko‘rsatishga shunchalik band ediki, boshqa hech narsani o‘ylay olmadi.”
23. ‘Only think of its being three months,’ she cried, ‘since I went away; it seems but a fortnight I declare; and yet there have been things enough happened in the time.
“Faqat uch oy bo‘lganini o‘ylang,” qichqirdi u, “men ketganimdan beri; menimcha faqat ikki hafta bo‘lgandek; lekin shu vaqt ichida yetarlicha narsalar ro‘y berdi.”
26. The discomposure of spirits which this extraordinary visit threw Elizabeth into, could not be easily overcome; nor could she, for many hours, learn to think of it less than incessantly.
“Ushbu noodatiy tashrif Elizabethni ruhiy notinchlikka solgan edi, uni osonlik bilan yengib bo‘lmasdi; va u ko‘p soatlar davomida bu haqda uzluksiz o‘ylashni kamaytira olmadi.”
1. ‘I had once had some thought of fixing in town myself— for I am fond of superior society; but I did not feel quite certain that the air of London would agree with Lady Lucas.’
“Men bir payt o‘zimni shaharda o‘rnatish haqida o‘ylagandim — chunki men yuqori jamiyatni yaxshi ko‘raman; lekin Londondagi havo Lady Lucasga mos keladimi, deganida aniq ishonchim yo‘q edi.”
4. How wonderfully these sort of things occur! Who would have thought of my meeting with, perhaps, a nephew of Lady Catherine de Bourgh in this assembly!
“Bunday narsalar qanday hayratlanarli sodir bo‘ladi! Kim o‘ylagan edi, balki Lady Catherine de Bourghning amakivachchasi bilan shu yig‘ilishda uchrashishimni!”
5. Mrs. Bennet wished to understand by it that he thought of paying his addresses to one of her younger girls, and Mary might have been prevailed on to accept him.
“Mrs. Bennet bunga qarab, u uning kichik qizlaridan biriga e’tibor qaratishini tushunishni xohladi, va Mary uni qabul qilishga ishontirilishi mumkin edi.”
6. When she thought of her mother, her confidence gave way a little; but she would not allow that any objections there had material weight with Mr. Darcy, whose pride, she was convinced, would receive a deeper wound from the want of importance in his friend’s connections, than from their want of sense; and she was quite decided, at last, that he had been partly governed by this worst kind of pride, and partly by the wish of retaining Mr. Bingley for his sister.
“Onasini o‘ylagach, uning ishonchi biroz so‘ndi; lekin u u yerda hech qanday e’tirozlar Mr. Darcyga katta ta’sir qilmaydi, deb qabul qilmadi, chunki uning g‘ururi do‘stining aloqalaridagi ahamiyatsizlikdan ko‘ra, ularning aqlsizligidan chuqurroq jarohat oladi, degan fikrga keldi; va nihoyat, u qisman bu eng yomon turdagi g‘urur, qisman esa Bingleyni singlisi uchun saqlash istagi bilan boshqarilganiga ishonch hosil qildi.”
7. Every idea that had been brought forward by the housekeeper was favourable to his character, and as she stood before the canvas on which he was represented, and fixed his eyes upon herself, she thought of his regard with a deeper sentiment of gratitude than it had ever raised before; she remembered its warmth, and softened its impropriety of expression.
“Uy bekasi ilgari surgan har bir fikr uning xarakteri foydasiga edi, va u uning tasvirlangan rasmiga qarab turganida, u o‘ziga tikilgan nigohni ilgari hech qachon his qilmagan chuqur minnatdorchilik bilan o‘yladi; uning iliqligini esladi va ifodaning noto‘g‘riligini yumshatdi.”
8. She longed to know what at the moment was passing in his mind—in what manner he thought of her, and whether, in defiance of everything, she was still dear to him.
“U shu lahzada uning ongida nima bo‘layotganini bilishni xohlardi — u qanday o‘ylashini va hamma narsaga qaramay, u hali ham unga aziz ekanligini bilishni istardi.”
10. Their arrival was dreaded by the elder Miss Bennets, and Jane more especially, who gave Lydia the feelings which would have attended herself, had she been the culprit, and was wretched in the thought of what her sister must endure.
“Ularning kelishi katta Miss Bennetlar, xususan Jane uchun qo‘rqinchli edi; u Lydia’ga o‘zini jinoyatchi bo‘lganida his qilgan hislarni berdi, va singlisi nima chidashini o‘ylab xafa bo‘ldi.”
